Here’s an introduction to Steve Andrews, Lead singer of Beyond from Within from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Steve has self-released a 7” vinyl record called This is Beyond from Within which features two amazing songs: Something Is About to Go Down & They Say. This 7” vinyl record has been selling well on Current Phonograph & I caught up with Steve Andrews 2 ask moore about his band’s music, record, & future plans

Paul) How did you come up with the name Beyond From Within? What does it mean

Steve: The music and deep lyrics come from Beyond From Within your mind and soul. Think deep!!

Paul) Why did you decide to release your song on vinyl?

Steve: Great songs need to be released and heard on vinyl.

Paul) What is the song “Something is About to Go Down” about?

Steve: “Something is about to go down” - is a song for today's times that keeps you guessing throughout the song until the end!! Is it war? Is it peace? Or is it love? In the end, love is about to go down!!

Paul) What is the B-Side “They Say” about?

Steve: “They, say” – is a song about peace, love and freedom!! "Today you are a rockin flower, a soldier for peace, and a shadow in the name of love"

Paul) I think Beyond From Within sounds along the like of The Stranglers, Interpol or Joy Division. Who are some of your influences?

Steve: The music and lyrics of Beyond From Within are products of their influences: The Doors, The Rolling Stones (Years 64-71), The Who, Pink Floyd, Chambers Brothers (“Time has come today”), etc.

Paul) The jacket cover is colorful. What does this art say about your music?

Steve: The psychedelic colors of the official logo and jacket represent the 1960’s influenced, psychedelic theme of Beyond From Within!!

Paul) Are you looking for label representation. Who are a few labels you like & why?

Steve: Yes, I am looking for label representation. However the label has to represent the very specific genre with an eclectic combination of Psych, Garage and Freakbeat!! Some of the labels that I like are Precious Recordings of London, State Records of London and the future Current Phonograph Records!!

Paul) You should definitely check out the 7” called This is Beyond From Within. It’s a catchy single & killer B-Side. Buy today. It's only five bucks
